Mike is taking the right approach with Berkowitz - not to expect much and see where the path takes you, if anywhere. And he's right that Berkowitz has muddied the waters over time. Unfortunately, I don't think anybody's ever going to get Berkowitz to reveal much of anything new on the Son of Sam while he is still alive. Mike, do you think Berkowitz is telling the truth to Carl Denaro now, that he was his shooter?
ReplyDeleteHi RockerMike here. Actually, I don’t believe David in his latest “confession” in Mike Caparelli’s book. Carl is skeptical too. I really don’t give it much thought. There’s so much evidence to the contrary. David may have had a reason to say that at the time.
DeleteThanks Rocker Mike! I appreciate the response. It seems Berkowitz doubled-downed on he was solely responsible for shooting Carl, when he told Carl directly when they visited. The Savino story may have many questions and holes and Berkowitz may not be the shooter, but his denial holds no water. He misleads and lies and is not credible with his long history of changing the story. He did it to Carl on their visit. Telling him he was the shooter but planting a seed by giving Carl Process material when he was leaving. This is why people have issues with his "Christian" values. He plays games.
DeleteWell I don’t really appreciate the “gotcha” type statement you just made at the end of your last comment. It’s ok if you wanna doubt his Christianity. I don’t go so far as to do that. In my world you can be Christian and still make mistakes. Nobody is a perfect Christian. I mentioned that David may have had reasons for “confessing” to all the shootings. I still stand by that.
DeleteLet's get one thing straight - I'm not Manny and not trying to trick anyone or get a "Gotcha". Things seemed to go a little off the rails last night with some accusations. I see Nate addressed it in another thread, so no issues. Yes, Christians and all people make mistakes and there should always be a basis for forgiveness, which is a big part of Christianity and should be. It's one thing to "play games" with a Maury Terry or someone not directly affected by the case. It's another thing to mislead a victim (Carl) of a direct crime. If Berkowitz shot Carl and has confessed it, fine and the Christian value is true and there. He should just cut out the other nonsense (leaving subtle doubts)

DeleteYou're conflating the details of 2 visits, Max. The first visit - the one in which 2 other people were taken along that David had never met - is the one where the Process information was given. You know this better than anyone. This would have been a much different meeting had Carl gone by himself, and let's not forget that Carl (at that time) was aligned with Manny enough that he gave Manny the exclusive interview on the details of that visit.
DeleteFor the record, I harbor no ill will toward Carl. This is not meant to be critical of him, though I do wish he had gone alone. Similarly, when you are sitting there with the fella that wrote Monster Mirror, do you think you're going to get something other than Monster Mirror? I think not.
He gave Manny an exclusive? LOL you gotta check your medications. Carl fell out with Manny in late 2021. He first saw Berkowitz in late 2022 and then in 2023. After the first visit he gave The Son of Sam Chronicles an exclusive. He never gave Manny an interview on that and Manny went on to say stuff like “maybe Carl never really met Berkowitz”. Carl was a returning guest on that show for 2.5 years. He never appeared or gave Manny any info since the attempt to amend things in the Fall of 2021 fell apart. I was there I know.

RockerMike here again. Correction with the year. Carl first met Berkowitz in late 2021. We were still using the Conspiracy 420 name which would be changed to the Son of Sam Chronicles right after this. Here’s the link to the exclusive interview he gave us right after the meeting.

LOL! Last night I was accused of being Manny (NOT). Today it's Max (also NOT!). But, maybe I AM SPARTACUS! Keep guessing. Anyways, you are correct that the Process material handout and the sole shooter confession were two different occasions with Carl. About a year apart. The interviews were done by Rocker Mike and Rob R. on their Lumped Up YouTube channel (it wasn't Manny). So, if the final version is Berkowitz confessing to Carl that he was the lone shooter in Carl's case and there was no further "allusions" of other chicanery involved, then I buy that. Thanks for clarifying.

DeleteI just spent some time reviewing my screenshots and facebook DMs, and it appears that both Mike and I are "half right." The date on the 420 video is 12/20, whereas the date on Manny's video is Jan 10. There's a bit more to it than that, though. Carl met with Manny within a few days after his visit with David, and we (in the OG Maury Terry group) were told to stand down (with regard to Manny). Manny announced on his Jan 3 "Milieu Monday" that the following week's show would be an exclusive where he will reveal new revelations about Berkowitz -- and that Carl was saving that info to reveal on Manny's show, and that no one else knew what that was (at the time). This is derived from screenshots and separate convos with 3 other people as it was happening.
ReplyDeleteThat kind of rings a bell with me. But we had already had Carl on a two part series in December, the second part being the 20th where we discussed the visit. Sounds like he was trying to downplay Carl’s appearance on our shows after which at last glance has over 13k views since its release in 2021. I should’ve taken his approach as a sign of things to come. I never expected the pure guile and jealousy that would come, and the lies and misrepresentations. All we wanted to do was a somewhat light version of things. We filmed half the shows in a bar FFS! I guess once Carl and Manny had the final falling out all of a sudden WE became a problem because WE had Carl on. We would take the name calling and shit talking for all of 2022 before it was game on. And here we are in 2025. Same shit. But I do see a new chapter on the horizon for our side of things.
